This week I spent a couple of days in London, attending the World Travel Market for the first time and spending a very enjoyable evening at the Travel Blog Camp, organised by Darren from Travel Rants.
It was a get together at a London pub of around 80 travel bloggers, folk from the online travel industry and people with a PR interest in what's going on in the blogging world. I was excited to meet some of the faces behind the blogs I regularly follow, as there seem to so few of us in the UK, compared with so many in the US and around the world. I linked up with Karen from Europe a la Carte, where I've recently joined the blogging team, posting every Thursday. I spotted Guido from the Happy Hotelier who was taking enough photos to start a Blogger's society page. I also chatted to Caitlin from Roaming Tales who has also written a nice summary of the evening on her blog.

Hi Heather
sorry I didn't get to meet you at the Blog Camp, there were just so many people there. A great success.
I agree that it is very interesting and encouraging to see the larger organisations starting to dip their toes into the world of social media. I guess it remains to be seen how we can all work together...
We have reviiwed the evening on our blog, would love to hear your comments
Anna
Those were not all my beer glasses by the way :)
Heather, I thought that the evening was a great success apart from being too short, meaning I didn't have time to meet everyone.
You took a great photo of Darren and Caitlin.
I liked your views regarding the travel bloggings. You would have really enjoyed being at that camp.I am also running the blog for Sunny Beach Hotels which is one of the best hotels to visit while traveling to Europe.
Hi Heather!
This is really interesting - I'm going to have to scout out similar gatherings in the US. I started an independent travel blog with two friends a couple of months ago. Acquiring consistent traffic has been quite challenging, but we're enjoying contributing content all the same.
Great blog - will be back often!
Best,

Sounds interesting. Thanks for all the links!

Hi Heather,
Thanks for the link! Hope I'll get to meet you next time!
Europe a la Carte is one of the most successful independent travel blogs both in the UK and globally. Karen Bryan is the founder and she has now taken on other writers, turning it into a multi-author blog cum online travel magazine.
@Sujan
Yes, I'm one of the writers on Europe a la Carte - I post there every Thursday
London is most beautiful city of UK, i want to visit it.
